Not much!/online classes/Tango Spa

Hello Tango Warwick mailshot recipients,

What cheer?    not that much I fear. The only thing kept in the diary is the Tango Spa weekend on Oct 23rd 24th 25th with lots of dancing, top DJ's, fab venues,  Jenny & Ricardo Oria to teach and enthral us, and Corina Piatti to delight us before departure. Surely October is far enough away? and we don't have horned beasts wandering around Leamington Spa to frighten people away. You can find booking info & details repeated below.

Sadly we've had to postpone the May milonga with Tango Calor & Mabel Gomez, but hope very much to have them at some time before Christmas.

For many of our teachers the loss of tango is much more serious than just not being able to do something they love. Fortunately having classes etc on line can help them, as well as us,  get over this period.

I'll just mention here on line possibilities with those who have taught Tango Warwick more than twice in the last three years or so, and similarly for posts on our Facebook site to avoid cluttering it up even more than usual. If you feel this is unjust please let me know!

Online classes:

There was talk of having a competition for the best design of face masks to tango in; maybe gloves could be added.

All the best!

Registration is now open for  the 2020 Tango Spa. After a one year gap it will be on the same lines as previous ones. However the Friday milonga will be in the gorgeous Warwick Court House Ballroom, running from 8 pm (approx) to 11.30pm, to allow Warwick citizens their accustomed early night, and the Sunday Twilight Milonga will run from 4 pm to 8.30 pm, to save you wandering the streets between its start and the end of the Matinee Milonguita (once known, inaccurately, as the tango cafe). Again we will have Jenny & Ricardo Oria to teach the workshops, and dazzle us with a performance at the Grand Spa Ball, and Corina Piatti to wind us down most beautifully at Sunday evening's Twilight Tango. Ricardo Peixoto will be announcing the DJ's in due course.

BOOKINGS:

Email bookings taken via tangowarks@gmail.com under heading Tango Spa v8 (even if you think it is v9! ) [Please do not reply to this email!!]specifying(1) which workshops you want to attend and (2) whether you are a leader, follower or couple and(3) don’t forget to add names! plus contact numbers and email address.
Once we confirm availability we will send payment details. All bookings must be paid in advance and will only be confirmed when we are aware that payment has arrived: -apologies I have been very slow to do this!

We aim to balance the number of leaders and followers in each workshop (not the welcome class). To help us please book early and if possible with a partner. Please also make sure you do not apply for workshops above your level of experience: the advertised level “INT” means “Intermediate and onwards”. A waiting list will be operated. Rationing may be imposed.

HOTELS etc

I'd hoped to get some discounts set up with Tripadvisor, in theory you can get them for 10 or more people, but so far it has not worked very well. They did not include 2 of the most convenient: Travel Lodge and Premiere. Here is an undiscounted list. People have not enjoyed James Hotel much even though it is so close to N Hall & the Pump rooms.
