MILONGA LA IDEAL November Edition. DJ Ewa Zbrzeska
TANGO WARWICK invites you to enjoy and enhance the November edition of its monthly milonga.
"November" is almost synonymous with darkness and gloom as the nights draw in, but has the major festival of Divali celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, and the exuberance of bonfire night on 5th. Do come and join in tango's contribution to the triumph & exuberance!
We will be at home in Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a good floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics.
We are delighted to have Ewa Zbrzeska returning as guest DJ. London based, originally from Poland, Ewa has been regularly dejaying at major London milongas, and has played at many UK & European events. She last dejayed for us at our February, Candlemas, edition, celebrating the return of light after winter.
There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.
We encourage good tango*, nice ronda** and cabeceo.
It will be the friendly, joyful, and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, regulars, and once regulars, alike. Quoting a distinguished tanguero "a lovely milonga with a barrio feel, very good and friendly social dancers and a fluid ronda."
TIME: Friday November 4th, 8pm-midnight.
PLACE: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
COST(Cash at door) : £12 (£8 for students with student card). In cash. Prebooking not required. For covid cautions see below.
WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. You can now even stay in Warwick Castle grounds.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.
