Milonga Ideal Fri 5th Jan, DJ Ricardo Peixoto, Warwick Court House Ballroom. / Diary.
We hope you have all been enjoying the first few days of Christmas.
Tango Warwick is happy to invite you to come and enhance the special 11th Day of Christmas version of our monthly traditional milonga . It will be in the elegance of Warwick's Court House Ballroom, on the main street of discretely decorated historic Warwick. Our resident DJ, and co-founder with Su Park, Ricardo Peixoto will be in action, so you are in exhilarating but safe hands.
We start earlier than usual, at 7 pm since, as you may know by now, Warwick citizens like an early night and we must finish soon after 11.00 pm. You will also have to pay a little more than usual, in cash.
As well as the usual warm welcome and good vibes, there will be somewhat festive nibbles, and some wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish. The floor is excellent. We aim to make it a very good evening.
Einat Adato will be there with a selection of tango shoes ; so you can buy that late Christmas present for yourself which you so much deserve.
TIME: 7 pm -11pm (approx) Friday 5th January.
COST: £15/(£10 for students with student id.) in CASH, at door.
WHERE: The Court House Ballroom, Jury Street, Warwick CV34 4EW
The Court House is on the main street, A429, through Warwick, above "Information", on the right when going East, opposite the road leading to St Mary's Church (under repair). The entrance is on the side road and up the stairs.
It is about 20 minutes walk from Warwick railway station, less if you go through a park. See http://www.traveline.info. Also close to M40 and A46 with its connections to M6, M69, M1 .
Parking has to be hunted for: Jury Street (A429 the main road) itself, by the castle wall, in side streets towards or beyond St Mary's Church, or in various car parks eg P1, P2, P3, P4, in https://www.warwickdc.gov.uk/info/20547/warwick_car_parks
It has not usually been a serious problem before unless there is an event in the Castle. That seems not to be so on 5th, apart from a Christmas light trail in the Castle grounds from 4 pm to 6 pm https://www.warwick-castle.com/explore/events/christmas/
Warwick is a major tourist centre, and very close to Stratford. There are many hotels and B&B's. You can even stay at the "Knights Village" in the castle grounds.
