Milonga Ideal with Tango Calor & Mabel Gomez, Friday 4th October,  7.30pm to midnight:

Tango Warwick comes to autumn with a special treat: the October edition of its monthly traditional milonga will include dancing to live music by the Tango Calor trio. Their last visit to us was cancelled because of the pandemic: it has been a long wait! We are delighted that we can again have the dream pairing with ever popular Mabel Gomez as DJ.

Please note the early start time, the increase in prices, and the advice to pre-book.

We will be at home in Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a decent floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics. It is the perfect size for an event such as this: intimate enough to feel the full power of the music and singing, but large enough for it not to be overpowering.

There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.

We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!

It will be the friendly, joyful, welcoming, and lively, milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, occasionals, and regulars alike.

TIME: 7.30pm to midnight.

PLACE: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.

COST : £20 (£12 for students with student card). Book and pay in advance as below. At door IN CASH if places are available but watch to see if advance booking becomes a requirement!

PREREGISTRATION/BOOKING is asked for to avoid overcrowding, and may be made a requirement. This can be done via the google form https://forms.gle/4dbZXhTweGtgvm7Y6
If you have difficulty with the form please email tangowarks@gmail.com with your booking requirements, giving distinguishing names for each person to avoid double booking. You will be given the option to pay immediately and so ensure your entry, or to wait. With the latter you will be informed if we are about to fill up and will then be asked to pay within a given time for all those you are booking for. Please be careful that our replies are not treated as spam! We do not usually get full but it does happen sometimes eg for Corina Piatti's last appearance at our monthly milonga, and looks likely for this event.

WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away, fairly inexpensive, but generally found adequate. Some swear by its breakfast. Kenilworth hotels are a short drive away.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.

TANGO CALOR:Tango Calor is formed by a very talented group of musicians based in Bristol. They will be with their exciting new singer Jimi Can, with the line up:
Mirek Salmon (bandoneon),
Daryl Kellie (guitar)
Jimi Can (voice),
recently back from a tour of France. You can see, and hear, more about them via the Tango Calor Facebook site.
Their previous visits to Tango Warwick have been very popular. As DJ, Mabel Gomez has been brilliant in working with them, and with the dancers, to create a superb evening of tango.

Looking forward to seeing you!
