La Milonga Ideal at Warwick Court House Ballroom with Mabel Gomez, 3rd April.
There are classes at St Mary's by Luis & Elizabeth this Friday, 27th March, and Fridays 10th, 17th, 24th April as usual, with Wednesday practicas as usual.
BUT no classes on Friday 3rd April, Good Friday; then we have a special occasion:
La Milonga Ideal, Special April edition at Warwick Court House Ballroom with Mabel Gomez.
For the coming bank holiday we give in to public demand by taking the April edition of Tango Warwick's monthly traditional milonga to the supreme elegance of the Warwick Court House Ballroom. It is in the centre of historic Warwick, and a wonderful room for a special milonga.
We are very happy that the ever popular Mabel Gomez has agreed to DJ for us; assuring entrancing and exciting music
to keep us dancing and delighted.
Einat Adato will be there with a selection of Balanceo shoes to tempt you with.
As you may know by now, Warwick citizens like an early night and these days we must stop the music by 10.30 pm. To compensate there is the early start at 6.30 pm.
TIME: Friday 3rd April, 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm.
As well as the usual warm welcome for visitors and regulars, and good vibes, there will be nibbles, and some wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish. The floor is excellent. We aim to make it a very good evening!
COST: £16 (£10 for students with student card), in CASH, at door.
THE COURT HOUSE is on the main street, A429, Jury Street, through Warwick, above "Information", on the right when going East, opposite the road leading to St Mary's Church. The entrance is on the side road.
It is about 15 minutes walk from Warwick railway station, less if you go through a park. See http://www.traveline.info. Also close to M40 (via junction 15) and A46 with its connections to M6, M69, M1 .
PARKING has to be hunted for:eg in Jury Street (A429) the main road itself, or by the castle wall, or in side streets towards or beyond St Mary's Church. Some free after 6pm, others £2.30 for the night after 6pm. See https://www.parkopedia.com
Useful car parks are:
West Rock Car Park, West Rock, Warwick, CV34 4DE , 5-minute walk to the venue;
Cape Rd, Warwick CV34 4UN. Open and free after 5pm. Not available before 5pm. My favourite choice if street parking seems full. 10 minutes walk.
St. Nicholas Park Car Park, Banbury Road, Warwick, CV34 4QY. 7-minute walk to the venue (uphill!).
Parking has not usually been a serious problem before unless there is a special evening event in the Castle; that seems not to be so on 3rd April.
ACCOMMODATION: Warwick is a major tourist centre, and very close to Stratford. There are many hotels and B&B's. You can even stay in Warwick Castle grounds. This is a holiday weekend, so it's best to book early.

Don't miss it unless you have to! we will not be there again in 2026.
