Milonga+premilonga class by El Pibe Sarandi/ Festivalette booking
Milonga La Ideal: Golden time, golden guest, edition.
On Friday 6th September Tango Warwick is honoured to welcome "El Pibe” ("The Boy”) Sarandi to our monthly milonga.
He will give a pre-milonga class on “Tango Milonga”, his speciality. El Pibe Sarandi is an authentic Milonguero coming out of the golden age of Argentine Tango. His teaching, as his dancing, is precise, simple, and humorous. He will stay for the milonga, and his company will be a delight, as you will know if you saw him in Leicester a few years ago, for example! He comes thanks to Dante Culcuy. More bibliographic notes below.
Not only will we have him but, to complement this distinguished guest, Mabel Gomez has agreed to DJ, to make it a very good evening indeed.
There will be the usual warm welcome to newcomers, a nice wooden floor, great acoustics, and wonderful dances waiting to be had. Plus some nibbles and some wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you like. Please NOTE THE TIMING!
TIMES : 8.15-9.15 pm : Tango Milonga class by El Pibe Sarandi (Ricardo Maceira)
9.30 pm -00.30 am (approx) : Milonga La Ideal with Mabel Gomez as DJ.

Warwick SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick. Next to the Millwright Arms and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. Parking is plentiful around the venue in residential areas but do not park on the pub next door or in Sainsbury’s – people have been known to be fined there! Ricardo Maceira "El Pibe Sarandi”(gleanings from the web):
He was born in 1942 in the "barrio" "Avellaneda" in Buenos Aires. He began dancing when he was 13, teaching himself. He earned his nickname “El Pibe” , “The Boy”, because he was so young, at this, the last part of the Golden Age of Argentine Tango. His first professional performance was in 1964, with Carlos Gavito in the company of Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbaun. He was involved in several films too. His speciality is in milonga lisa and milonga traspie, and the much less known “tango milonga”. His humour makes his classes an unforgetable pleasure.
""First I will teach you the movement and the technique....but to the moment we have to give life. The life is given to the movement by your soul and in your spirit lives the magic of tango. I can teach you the steps but I cannot give you my soul, you have to put yours."
Many performances can be found on the web, for example where he is dancing with Claudia Lombardi:
