Milonga La Ideal 1st April with Ivan Arandia; Classes at St Mary's.
THIS WEEK it's Tango Warwick's monthly milonga :on 1st April at 8 pm.
Spring really seems to be here (sometimes). It's one of the many best times to dance and we ask you to join us.
To guarantee the enjoyment and excitement we are fortunate to have Ivan Arandia as guest DJ. He must be among the most experienced DJ's in Britain and is well known to many of you as the personification of Negracha Tango Club in London, but you can find more about him here: https://www.andreeavaidean.com/ivanarandia
and https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010424625778...
We will be at home in the recently refurbished Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a good floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics.
Covid entry requirements (see below) will be in force, but otherwise it will be the friendly, joyful, welcoming and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love.
There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.
We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!
Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors and once regulars alike.
Time: 8pm to midnight.
Place: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
Cost (at door) : £12 (£8 for students with student card). In cash. Prebooking not required. For covid entry requirements see below.
WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away, inexpensive, but generally found adequate. Some swear by its breakfast.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.
COVID ENTRY CONDITIONS (April lst) : To enter you must either be able to show that you have had a negative lateral flow test on April 1st (eg by producing the plastic strip) or that you are double vaccinated and have had a positive test between January 1st 2022 and 20th March. It is important to realise that these requirements reduce the possibility of infection but do not remove it.
