Milonga Ideal May edition/ Tango Spa: DJ for Grand Spa Ball & booking

This  Friday, 3rd May,  Tango Warwick offers its monthly Milonga "La Ideal" with our resident, and brilliant DJ, Ricardo Peixoto. You are warmly invited to join with us and enhance the evening.
We will be at home in Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a good floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics.

There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.
We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!
It will be the friendly, joyful, welcoming and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors and once regulars alike.
Time: 8pm to midnight.
Place: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
Cost ( in cash at door) : £12 (£8 for students with student card). In cash. Pre-booking not required.

WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away, generally found adequate. Some swear by its breakfast.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back

The Tango Spa festival runs from 25th to 27th October with around 20 hours of dancing at fine venues in Leamington and Warwick, plus workshops (see https://tangowarwick.org/news/2024/4/24/tango-vals-space-practica-milonga-ideal-tango-spa-classes)  and a performance by Ricardo & Jenny Oria, and with Corina Piatti live to dance or  listen to.

Ricardo Peixoto is now able to announce who will  DJ for the Grand Spa Ball on Saturday night at the Royal Pump Rooms. It will be announced this Friday, and booking will open late on Friday evening. In case you want to try to guess or work out who the DJ will be:

This creator of wonderful evenings is based much further from one of the earth's most famous places than might be thought; around 102 score and 10 miles in fact, but the farthest away from that base are the isles of misty sun with their history of violence. The "chat 'em up" tradition there did little to stop the slaughter in Rekohu.  (Without the mistiness we could be warm and close.)  Did the ancestors of this one who will keep us dancing to the early hour include that Bishop of Ypres whose monument was symbolically destroyed by an irate orthodoxy? As promised defiantly in the song we will wait in the spring and through the summer, though for the arrival of this acclaimed purveyor of songs not the return of a long delayed traveler.

Hope to see you!

David, for Tango Warwick
