Celebrating with the glorious June edition of La Milonga Ideal with guest DJ Katerina Stoyanova:

Friday 6th sees the June edition of Tango Warwick's traditional milonga. Do come and join us!
We are delighted to welcome Katerina Stoyanova** in her return as guest DJ. For her visit last year Warwick Space was nearly bursting at the seams. Co-organiser and resident DJ of weekly milongas at Tango Cafe in London, she has been regularly DJ-ing at milongas and larger events in UK and Europe since 2016.

TIME: 8pm to midnight, Friday 6th June.
PLACE: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
COST (at door in cash) : £12 (£8 for students with student card). IN CASH. Prebooking not required.

We will be at our atmospheric home in Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a decent floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics.

There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.

We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!

It will be the friendly, joyful, welcoming, and lively, milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, occasionals, and regulars alike.

WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away, and generally found adequate. Some swear by its breakfast. Kenilworth hotels are a short drive away.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.

** Katerina Stoyanova, our guest DJ:
" I select music mostly from the Golden Age, drawing on the incredible richness of danceable music from that period, with a little bit of earlier and later music. I like to create tandas that are coherent but aim for good variety and contrast between the tandas, covering the ground from intricate and playful to lyrical and intense, aiming to create sets that are fresh and vibrant and never flat. I improvise my sets and take my inspiration from what’s going on on the floor – every time it’s different and this makes it special. I pay close attention to sound quality, using the best available transfers and equipment, as I believe this makes a huge difference on the dancers’ experience of the music."

Hope to see you!

David, for Tango Warwick.
