Tango SPArkle-DJ's announced, booking started.
" Tango SPArkle" hopefully will be Tango Spa v8 in all but name. However if restrictions are still in force we will work with our teachers, performers, DJ's and participants to do what we can to make it nevertheless sparkle brightly.
Registration is now open for dance packages and classes. The intended programme is essentially as last year, which was to be on the same lines as previous years.
As a change from pre-2019 years: the Friday milonga will be in the gorgeous Warwick Court House Ballroom, running from 8 pm (approx) to 11.30pm, to allow Warwick citizens their accustomed early night, and the Sunday Twilight Milonga will run from 4 pm to 8.30 pm, to save you wandering the streets between its start and the end of the Matinee Milonguita (once known, inaccurately, as the tango cafe). Again we will have Jenny & Ricardo Oria to teach the workshops, and dazzle us with a performance at the Grand Spa Ball, and -a new announcement- Corina Piatti to wind us down most beautifully at Sunday evening's Twilight Tango!
However please note we may have to make changes in view of government restrictions or guidelines. These may include: requiring proof of double vaccination at least 2 weeks before, and/or a negative test; keeping classes to fixed partners; reducing the size of classes; increasing prices if we have to reduce the number of participants; or worse. They may be last minute. We will do what we can to alleviate any such happenings. Of course you will be able to opt out and get your money back if the changes are substantial and do not suit you.
We will now delightedly announce the DJ's :
Welcome Milonga: Ricardo Oria himself, who delighted us in 2018 when he stood in at short notice;
Grand Spa Ball: David Thomas, who has kept us dancing and loving being alive in many other venues, including the ALSO festival, [Oh covid please please go away!] ;
Twilight Tango: it has to be Ricardo Peixoto, to keep up the excitement to the very last chord;
and for the Matinee Milonguita's the trusted team of Ann Nunn on Saturday and Juan de Scarfo on Sunday.
On Saturday & Sunday all events are close to each other in central Leamington; the workshops at North Hall, Spencer Yard, CV31 3SY and the dance events at the Royal Pump Rooms, The Parade, CV32 4AA.

specifying
(1) which dance events or workshops you want to attend and
(2) whether you are a leader, follower or couple and
(3) don’t forget to add names! plus contact numbers and email address.
We do not want bookings for single dance events at the moment unless you want to book a hotel room: we want to be more sure that restrictions will be lifted. Under normal conditions our dance events are not oversubscribed, though the Saturday Ball gets close to it.
If you booked for last year we will try to honour those bookings if you wish. For us to do that please contact us in the next ten days confirming, or not, that you want to keep to the same classes. It may be tricky if we gender matched you for a class, but we will do what we can. For some of you we still have your payments, so won't cut you off after only ten days.
Once we confirm availability we will send payment details. In case it becomes clear that covid restrictions will require changes we do not ask for payment before July 21st. Following that, all bookings must be paid in advance and will only be re-confirmed when we are aware that payment has arrived.
Please be patient; your bookings will be recorded in order of arrival.
We aim to balance the number of leaders and followers in each workshop (not the welcome class). To help us, please book early and if possible with a partner. Please also make sure you do not apply for workshops above your level of experience: the advertised level “INT” means “Intermediate and onwards”. A waiting list will be operated. Rationing may be imposed.
HOTELS etc
Two of the most convenient: Travel Lodge and Premiere, both on The Parade. People have not enjoyed James Hotel much even though it is so close to N Hall & the Pump Rooms, and inexpensive. I've heard good reports of the Angel Hotel. The Jephson (aka newly refurbished Falstaff) is about 15 minutes walk from the Leamington venues, and a short taxi ride from them and the Courthouse in Warwick. It costs around £50 for Friday, £65 for Saturday, but they quite like tangueros so you might get extra nice treatment if you mention that---they have a ballroom-I'm wondering if it would be usable for those who need something later than midnight on Friday....
Lots of B&B's and AirB&B's too.
Hope to hear from you!
