MIlonga La Ideal with Diego Doigneau this Friday. Other news
Candlemas! Time to burn your mistletoe, look forward to the brightening of the evenings, and have a spanking good milonga. For that you need a sg DJ, and a sg venue with a sg group of friendly people. What better than Diego Doigneau as DJ at Warwick SPACE, probably the closest approximation to Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club in the UK, with Tango Warwick's Candlemas edition of Milonga La Ideal?
Diego is a much sought after DJ in festivals & marathons throughout the UK and Europe, and has recently returned from Buenos Aires. He last deejayed for us in the glory of Royal Leamington Spa's Royal Pump Rooms. This time it will be in the raw intimacy and excitement of our usual home.
Tango Warwick invites you to come to, enjoy, and enhance, the Candlemas edition of its monthly milonga.
There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.
We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!
It will be the friendly, joyful, and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, regulars, and once regulars, alike. Quoting a distinguished tanguero "a lovely milonga with a barrio feel, very good and friendly social dancers and a fluid ronda."
TIME: Friday February 3rd, 8pm-midnight.
PLACE: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
DJ: Diego Doigneau
COST (Cash at door only) : £12 (£8 for students with student card). In cash. Prebooking not required.
WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away, was inexpensive, but generally found adequate. Some swear by its breakfast. You can now even stay in Warwick Castle grounds.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS If you are feeling unwell please stay away, especially if you think it may only be the flu!
