Milonga Ideal with superstar Guillermo Fernandez, Dante Culcuy, & Lilie

You’re invited to enjoy and enhance a very special August edition of Tango Warwick's monthly milonga.

It will include a performance by the singer, musician, actor, and composer Guillermo Fernandez. With over 50 years in Tango his impressive vocal range, oustanding stage presence and prestigious international career, place him as one of the most important artists of this genre. During his over 50 years in Tango he  worked with many of the artists we now revere.

As an indication of his esteem, for Argentina's Bicentenary celebrations he was chosen to sing their national anthem in tango rhythm. He was recognized as one of the 5 best tango singers of the decade in 2005 and again in 2015.

He performed at our Milonga Ideal in 2019 and was stunning! Not surprisingly we are delighted that he will come and perform for us this year at Tango Warwick's August edition of Milonga Ideal.

He will give two sets of (very) approximately 15 minutes; one to listen to and the other to dance to. His visit is thanks to our good neighbour Dante Culcuy who will DJ for the evening. Dante will also give a pre-milonga class with Lilie. Altogether a memorable and superb evening in the making!

For more about Guillermo Fernandez see https://www.todotango.com/.../943/Guillermo-Fernandez/  and  attachments to this newsletter.

It will anyway remain the friendly, joyful, and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, regulars, and once regulars, alike.

Nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.

WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away. Some swear by its breakfast. You can now even stay in Warwick Castle grounds.

PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.

Hoping to see you!

David-for Tango Warwick.
