1st Sept: Milonga La Ideal "Temptation" edition with Mabel Gomez.
Tango Warwick invites you to enjoy and enhance the September edition of their monthly milonga.
"The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it."
Who else should DJ for us in September but Mabel Gomez? The supreme tempter. Mabel's music lures the dancers onto the floor again and again, almost ignoring the nibbles, freely flowing wine, and interesting cordials, let alone any apples.
It will be a great pleasure to have her again.
The music will be there with wonderful dances waiting to be created by you.
We will be at home in Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a decent floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics. (see https://youtu.be/DXSYRjzcjpQ)
There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.
It will be the friendly, joyful, and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, regulars, and once regulars, alike. Quoting a distinguished tanguero "a lovely milonga with a barrio feel, very good and friendly social dancers and a fluid ronda."
TIME: Friday 1st September, 8pm-midnight.
PLACE: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
COST (Cash at door only) : £12 (£8 for students with student card). IN CASH. Prebooking not required.
WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away. Some swear by its breakfast. You can now even stay in Warwick Castle grounds.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.
Hope to see you!
David, for Tango Warwick.
