For our last guest teacher before resident teachers Luis & Elizabeth's return on 31st January, we are delighted to be able to welcome Emilia Andrada on Friday 24th January. She is well known in UK initially from her time with Dante's Northern Tango Academy. Now based in Germany she also teaches regularly in UK and other countries, with a recent series of workshops in Cambridge. She will also be available for private lessons in Leamington on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th. See below for more.
Emilia will give two extended classes, the first for all levels but not absolute beginners, the second for intermediate level onwards. Experienced dancers are encouraged to come as early as they can, to help bring on the less experienced as well as for themselves.
***You do not need to come with a partner.
In particular we welcome single dancers as well as couples, newcomers and visitors as well as those we haven't seen for months or years, irregulars and regulars alike.
The evening ends with a sociable and lively practica/ social dancing, with some wine, fine cordials, and cake. It will complete an exciting, instructive, friendly, and very enjoyable evening's tango, which it would be a great pity to miss.
St Mary's Church Hall is in the smaller building adjacent to the main church. There is usually plenty of free parking in the church car park on the other side of the church and also on St Mary's Rd or nearby.
PRIVATE CLASSES: It may be possible to have private classes with Emilia on Thursday 23rd or before the classes on Friday 24th. Please contact her via infoemiliatango@gmail.com. or

EMILIA ANDRADA:
"About me
My name is Emilia Andrada from Argentina.
I started learning tango during my dance studies at university and specialized as a dancer and tango teacher in Buenos Aires.
Today I am very grateful to be able to share my culture with the whole world and to pass on what tango means to me, how it can change our lives and connect us with our feelings.
Throughout my career, I have played a key role as a choreographer, teacher and dancer of Argentine folklore and tango. I have taught courses in important institutions such as the ‘Centro Cultural Rojas’ of the University of Buenos Aires. I also spent several years in Brazil, where I trained and studied ballet at renowned dance schools. As a resident artist at the Reference Centre for Dance SP, I initiated and implemented numerous dance projects. I also had the opportunity to dance with the renowned dance company ‘La Fura dels Baus’ at the prestigious ‘Theatro Municipal São Paulo’. In 2015, together with Benjamin Galian, we founded the dance company ‘Charme Tango’ and had the opportunity to dance on some of the most prestigious stages in São Paulo. As a TangoDJane, I have worked at major European events and taught hundreds of students in Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, Brazil, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Malta, Tunisia, Cyprus and Japan.
With more than 22 years of professional experience in the field of dance, I have also completed complementary training in postural training, a postgraduate course in cultural management and a postgraduate course in the history and politics of tango. I have also completed additional training in the following areas: Make-up artist, audiovisual media, stage lighting, musicalisation of tango (TDJ), integration of music into dance, choreography, dance pedagogy, Feldenkrais, eutony, yoga, contacto-improvisation, anatomy for dance, prevention of physical injuries, biomechanics of movement, etc. This knowledge has enabled me to develop a pedagogical method for teaching tango that conveys information clearly and contextually. The innovative approach, which aims to facilitate the learning process, is based on three pillars: dance, music and tango culture."
