Friday 1st July: Milonga "La Ideal" + pre-milonga class.

Milonga "La Ideal" July edition, DJ: Iván Arandia, + pre-milonga class by Iván Arandia with Cintia Morea.

{No St Mary's classes this week: they resume on July 8th.}

The stone of July is ruby: it symbolises love and passion, and Tango is the incarnation of this into music and dance.
How better then to start off July than with Tango Warwick’s July edition of Milonga "La Ideal", and who better to lead that than Iván Arandia,
renowned as DJ, as teacher, and as the personification of Negracha Tango Club in London and now Kingston.

THE CLASS: " Musical Phrasing for Social Dancers with the focus on Milonga Traspié"
7pm-8 pm (approx), taught by Iván Arandia with Cintia Morea:
is part of a series: "Technique and Musical Phrasing for Social Dancers”, specially designed as pre-milonga lessons. "It’s a really good warm-up and we touch on key aspects of social dancing such as embrace, technique, musicality and spacial awareness”.
THE MILONGA, 8.pm (approx)-midnight, DJ Iván Arandia:
We will be at home in the refurbished Warwick SPACE. It is a large room with a good floor, in a space reminiscent of Buenos Aires' Sunderland Club (some say), and with great acoustics.

There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.

We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo.

It will be the friendly, joyful, welcoming and lively milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors and once regulars alike.

PLACE: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
COST (Cash only, at door) :
Milonga only: £12 (£8 for students with student card).
Class only: £10 (£5).
Milonga plus class: £15(£12).
Prebooking not required. For covid cautions see below.

WARWICK SPACE is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area. The Castle Limes Hotel is a few minutes away. The Jephson in Leamington is about 1.3 miles away, was inexpensive, but generally found adequate. Some swear by its breakfast.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road or Smith Street (one way, going East), on back streets (not very easy), or towards Warwick station. The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back.
COVID PRECAUTIONS (July):Infections, including re-infections, are increasing again, so if you have had a reasonable possibility of being infected, eg by going on public transport, or visiting a crowded pub, or dance festival, or if you have any likely symptoms, please do take a test as near to the start time as possible, or do not come. Infections can cause disruption to travel plans, to tango festivals, and to vital work, as well as the possibility of long term effects, and potential stress to the NHS.

Hope to see you there!

David, for Tango Warwick.
