Tango Warwick's covid philosophy & entry conditions/ Milonga Ideal Friday 1st Sept

Tango Warwick events now have strict entry requirements. These are designed to protect our own vulnerabilities, our wishes to continue working, and the vulnerabilities of those we may be in close contact with, and at the same time to give a joyful and authentic tango experience to those who have similar concerns, especially those who are hesitant at attending some other tango events.

We regret very much that this means some, including some friends, who can go to other events will not be able to come to ours. We are not yet fully out of the tunnel!

The requirements are essentially both vax AND test. See below.

MILONGA IDEAL returns on 1st October 2021 at Warwick SPACE, DJ Ricardo Peixoto.

Tango Warwick's first Milonga "La Ideal" after lockdown, under TW basic covid entry conditions (an NHS pass is NOT enough! see below) and half an hour earlier than usual, but otherwise the friendly, lively milonga, tango dancers have come to love. The DJ is our very own Ricardo Peixoto, so the music will be as good as you can get!

There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.

We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!

Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors and once regulars alike.

Time: 8pm to midnight.
Place: Warwick SPACE, 71 Coten End, Warwick CV34 4NU.
Cost : £10 (£8 for students with student card).

Please ensure you respect the wishes of those who do not wish to freely change partners. We will provide arm/wrist bands for you if you wish to identify as such.

Warwick SPACE, once used as a drill hall, is on the north side of the main road north of the river between Leamington and Warwick; next to the Black Pug pub, aka Millwright Arms, and almost opposite a Sainsbury local. It is a short walk from Warwick Railway Station, and not far from M40 and A46. There are several hotels & B&B's nearby in this tourist area.
PARKING is mostly on road, especially towards Warwick on the main road, on back streets (not very easy) or towards Warwick station (easier). The St Nicholas Park car park is about 10 minutes walk away but you probably could do with a torch on the way back. Unfortunately the pub next door is holding a Pugtoberfest that evening from 5pm to 11 pm.

Classes at St Mary's with Luis Rodriguez and Elizabeth Knock resume on Friday 8th Oct.

TW BASIC COVID ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: participants must be able to show they have been fully vaccinated (or had a positive PCR test less than 6 months ago but are past the quarantine period) and had a negative lateral flow test on the day.

An easy way to do the latter is to bring your test strip in a clear plastic bag, but the email or text from the NHS is fine. For St Mary's classes, exceptionally, the nhs covid pass suffices if you are dancing only with a fixed partner. An NHS covid domestic pass valid for 4 days after the event can be used for the vaccination requirement or positive PCR requirement, but the card given at vaccination suffices.

Hoping to see you!
